There are students from various walks of life at the university. People come from various different socio-economic backgrounds. Some families have the provision of affording all the luxuries in the world. Some are fighting to pay the bills and the monthly rent. It is a greater challenge for those who are financially crippled to a certain extent.

The richer students tend to possess more resistance, motivation and they are able to study the subjects on their own as well. They are more efficient and independent.

It has been observed that students who have not performed so well at college or in the universities were also academically impaired in high school too.

Why People Tend To Drop Out

There are several other reasons why people drop out. There are many men and women who have various responsibilities which need to be dealt with along with their education. Some people seek employment which is demanding with extensive working hours. Some students are victims of racism and some have disabilities which make them victims of social discrimination. But there are provisions that are being provided by universities.

How Universities Extend Their Help

These poor students seek assistance from the universities on a financial basis. Universities generally consider the grades of a pupil and they tend to overlook the personality of the student. Everything depends on the academic performance of a pupil. Sadly, the percentage of students who can complete the courses is not very outstanding even despite getting all the assistance from universities.

13.3% of the students are less likely to finish their degree in five years. 22.9 % of the students are less likely to graduate.

Disadvantaged undergraduates are 3.4 % likely to leave university than those from the 20%of the privileged section of society.

From A Practical Point Of View

There are several ways to help students who are not privileged if they cannot avail benefits financial benefits from universities. They can look for employment after studying subjects like engineering and management that offer very attractive salaries.

These subjects can be studied off-campus if studying on campus is very difficult and expensive for some. They might be struggling with a job and with meeting financial obligations.

What is of primary importance is a job that pays well and such students strive towards it by studying relevant courses. Apart from distance education they can choose to study these subjects online these subjects.

If students are interested in business studies, then they can choose to study a business course from a university or from a distance or they can select blended classes where they might need to go to the campus sometimes and they can complete the rest of the course at home with the help of a computer and the internet.

A Business diploma can be achieved either from the campus or online. In fact an online business diploma will assist the student in fast tracking their course to the final year of their graduation. They can complete their graduation in lesser time.

If they should wish to pursue their masters in business, they can choose a post-graduate business diploma that will help them quickly complete their MBA. If a student finishes the graduation, he can move on to junior executive roles in a firm from entry-level jobs. If they can complete the MBA, they can get senior executive jobs. With the increase in the number of degrees, the quality of jobs becomes better and the salaries increase simultaneously.

They don’t have to drop-out of these courses since they can complete them while they remain in their jobs. If they can manage their time, these provisions are the most flexible and adjusting in the world. They can get the course materials online and meet teachers and students online with whom they can interact and learn. Courses like these will indeed open doors to opportunities that could once never even been thought about.
