Who knew that the 21st century would bring such outstanding changes in the educational modes that students and career professionals would one day crave for accomplishing their academic goals online? Well, reports say that students earning school diplomas through traditional learning styles are getting delayed in reaching their career goals. This is one of the reasons why new age learners who are looking forward to enrol in diploma courses are going online.

Provost administrators sound optimistic for online learning

In South Carolina, there are numerous charter schools that offer a wide range of courses for career development. Moreover, there are certain virtual schools starting from Kindergarten to 12th standard while there are a few others that provide online education from the 9th to 12th standard.

Administrators from one of the several online schools in South Carolina, the Provost Academy say that students prefer choosing online learning institutions for diverse reasons. Tesha Byrne, the coordinator of the Provost Community said, “Whether that be because they are not learning like they feel like they should be....or because there are too many distractions."

Virtual classes require more motivation; still they are great

Provost reported that they had a total of about 900 students coming from various corners of South Carolina who now attend virtual classes. Byrne said that they were rather preparing their college students much better. The reason behind it was probably the environment where students were asked to show a good deal of self-motivation.

In reality, online schools are not fit for everyone and one of the reasons is the necessity of discipline. However, what’s the best part is that students would be given the liberty to work at their own pace and complete assignments with ease. In fact, teachers would also be present all the time to help them proceed with their lessons.

The counsellor of the Provost Academy, Ayende Alcala said that they would provide teachers who “Will be there at 7 o'clock at night or they'll be grading at 11 at night and the student sends a quick email....” Whenever students would be stuck with a question, the teachers would provide them the answer through emails.

As far as the reports of the South Carolina school district are concerned, online learning in schools works wonders and it certainly plays a key role in producing quality students. Reports say that 94% of the students in the South Carolina school district who enrolled in the online courses have come up with good grades.

E-learning support must be strengthened

It was just the previous Wednesday when the European Commission launched a big plan to commercialise e-learning from primary school to universities. It was found that 63% of 9-year old school students were not provided sufficient digital support. The commission executive said that only 50% of Europe’s 16-year olds study in good digital schools where students are offered to work with new equipments, high connectivity and broadband with lightening fast speed.

Online universities are now required to improve their learning standards through MOOCs. In fact, this will help people access education not only through any device but they can now do so anytime and from anywhere. So, whether one is planning for an undergraduate diploma in higher education or a degree course online, polishing one’s digital skills is of course essential. Once they acquire mastery over these skills, achieving high scores will never be a daunting task.
