High tech jobs are the most coveted ones in the modern society. However a lot of people believe that a person should necessarily have to be a Silicon Valley entrepreneur. Surprisingly, it has been found out that most high tech-positions are taken over by employees who don’t even hold a Bachelor’s qualification. Whether it is for technology, math or engineering, there is still quite a number of people who are continuing to enjoy employment in high tech jobs, a report has revealed. The Brookings Institution has further added that the STEM jobs require employees with considerable technical know-how; however, it is not necessary for them to acquire a Bachelor’s degree. This new perspective has helped people acquire desirable positions in high tech jobs which don’t limit an individual from revealing his/her prowess in the field. The new employment sphere is opening opportunities for those who don’t even possess a Bachelor’s qualification.

On an average a STEM job would offer workers approx pay of $53,000 (for those without a Bachelor’s degree); much higher than what other jobs pay to people with an equivalent qualification. It has been found that among eight STEM jobs which don’t entail attainment of a Bachelor’s degree, six of them rewarded with a higher pay than the national annual average. 2011 has already witnessed 500000 workers getting employed as systems analysts.

Brookings’ figures were further reviewed by Wall St, as the latter went on to review some of the most desired high tech jobs available in the market. Wall St, even reviewed additional data received by the Brookings Institution. Some of the most coveted high-tech employment areas are discussed in the following lines:

Registered Nurses

Between the year 2010 and 2020, the number of employment is expected to rise by 26%. The increase has come along after a rise has been marked due to an over emphasis laid on preventative health treatment and the aging population. Accomplishing a desired position in the field would require a woman to acquire an associate degree, a diploma or a Bachelor’s degree. A student enrolling for a course in nursing can take up classes in microbiology, physiology and chemistry.

Automotive Service Technicians and Mechanics

Automotive technicians and mechanics are professionals skilled in maintaining and repairing four wheelers as well as eighteen wheelers. Some technicians and mechanics specialise in fields such as front-end mechanisms and brake repairs. People in the field usually complete post-secondary training courses which can last for six months. However, an associate degree is also welcome in the field.

Carpenters

Carpenters are specialised in building structures and repairing them. A majority of people in the field acquire knowledge through apprenticeship programmes. Among other classes, the technical courses will entail them to learn carpentry and mathematics mainly. In addition to this programme, an expert will also have to complete a 2000 hours on-job-training. Between the years, 2010-2020, the numbers of carpenters are expected to grow.

Electricians

The electricians are highly in demand in USA. Aspirants are generally required to acquire a high-school diploma qualification. They are also required to enroll in a one year course in algebra. A four year apprenticeship course entailing on-job as well as classroom training is also necessary. Job prospects for electricians are likely to grow by 23%.

Computer system analysts

Computer systems analysts are responsible in organising a computing set-up and helping people operate them in a more efficient way. Analysts usually specialise in specific computing systems and mainly operate as consultants. Though most analysts possess a Bachelor’s degree, there is not a necessity for the same.
