The purpose of behind this initiative was to offer assistance to enhance the potential among students which will help them in their career. As per the reports, the University of Queensland will offer 15 courses for MOOC via edX. The University of New South Wales (UNSW) renders 7 courses which are delivered through its MOOC partner and caterer FutureLearn. The University of Melbourne has partnered with online learning facilitator Coursera to provide learning on seven courses.

The decision by the Australian Universities to offer web based learning courses is set to boost competence of the students and professionals. Since these universities have good reputation globally for delivering qualitative education, hence enhancement of the learners hold high possibility. However, at online learning much also depends on the method and commitment of the students.
